Some Things We Do

Patient visitation program:  New transplant patients are visited in the hospital and presented with an informational package as well as a gift to remind them of our support.

Monthly Support Group meetings.  The Support group meets the Third Tuesday of every month.

Dialysis units are frequently visited to provide patients with support and information regarding kidney transplantation.

Social Outings: Spring Steak-Out, Annual Family Summer Picnic in Angola, New York, Feel Good Fishing Excursion and Tailgate Party and our Annual Holiday Party and maybe more in the future.

Donor Awareness: Participate in health fairs and other public activities where awareness can be promoted.

Caregiver Support: Providing support and information to the caregiver through telephone calls and personal interaction at our meetings and social activities.

Prospective Transplant Patient Orientation: It is our goal to provide an honest, patients’ perspective of the transplant process, patient commitment, and the resulting benefits.

Pager Program: We provide a pager and pager service to patients who are on an organ transplant waiting list, and might otherwise be unreachable.

Patient Financial Assistance: On a limited and selective basis.

The programs presented here are only part of what we do and who we are.

Our purpose is to support the organ transplant recipient, those on the waiting list, as well as those on dialysis with concerns and questions regarding a transplant. We also welcome spouses/partners and family members in this endeavor. We plan to meet these support needs through education, advocacy, peer counseling, and social activities. The Support Group also promotes organ donation.
